Listening Across the Shortwave is a series of interdisciplinary workshops I designed and facilitated across a range of academic and creative contexts, including the Digital Writing and Research Lab (DWRL); the Sound Space Art Lab in UT Austin’s Butler School of Music; an “Ecological Interaction Design” course in the School of Design and Creative Technologies at UT Austin; the 2024 Computers and Writing Conference; and the R-CADE symposium at Rutgers University–Camden. 

“In each iteration, participants learn how to build low-cost, DIY radio receivers using found and recycled materials, following designs developed by Shortwave Collective—an international feminist artist collective committed to reimagining radio as a tool for shared experimentation, embodied knowledge, and collaborative listening.“
